Katrinawear model, Ashley Valerio is among the next crop of dancers to make the Top 20 on this season of FOX’s smash dance hit “So You Think You Can Dance”. Ashley is not only beautiful, but she is an AMAZING dancer and an all around sweetheart. After trying out the last 3 years and making it to Vegas in every season, Ashley’s will and determination, not to mention her dancing skill, landed her a spot this season. Congratulations Ashley! Katrinawear has broadened its cutting edge contemporary base of fashionable dance design to incorporate a number of very popular dance accessories from the past. New Products, New Ideas & Retro Styling… For 2009 we’re bringin’ the old to the new with a mixture of Katrina staples, like dance shorts and half tops mixed with brightly colored newcomers as well as trendy new legwarmers, stylishly comfy oversized shirts and even flip flops. We have also added a number of products in a plush Rayon/Spandex fabric which is stretchy and supportive but soft and supple.
Add some flair by layering!
An exciting and developing trend in dancewear fashion is layering. Layering is a very cost effective and simple way to expand your dance wardrobe by pairing multiple dance tops, hot pants, or traditional dance attire with cotton shorts or sweats.
In this photo we spiced up a muted tone of white booty shorts by pulling them over a pair of bright turquoise shorts. We also doubled up on the top as well by starting with a turquoise top to match the shorts and inverting the outer color to black for contrast against the white shorts.
Just a basic 2nd layer adds a dash of the brightly colored products underneath and gives you a whole new look and style! To capture the look in this picture we topped the outfit off with a pair of our new Famed Leg Warmers in Peppermint and added an inexpensive black mesh tutu for ultimate effect and incredibly unique style.
